Irupé

Mysticverse

Burning Man 2020

The Irupé project consisted of an installation developed in 3D format to be added to MISTYCVERSE - one of the 8 virtual universes of the Burning Man 2020 festival, which, due to the pandemic, held its edition this year in a totally virtual environment. As a result of the efforts of Adriel Ushli, Breno Vibes, Luar Franzine and Matheus Silva, an intervention was elaborated from the immersion in the universe of Tupi-Guarani indigenous legends, proposing a new perspective of contact with an ancestral culture in the northern region of Brazil. The installation inspired by the legend of Vitória Regia, was developed as a grand altar formed by giant petals in different sizes surrounding its entire perimeter, access was made through a staircase represented by floating regia leaves in front of a single opening between like petals, in the center of this altar it is possible to find the representation of an Indian woman floating. From 30.08 to 06.09.2020, the installation Irupé was the stage for the presentation of more than 70 artists including DJs, visual artists and performances. At the opening, a day dedicated exclusively to the presentation of indigenous artists, it was also possible to follow different Brazilian artistic collectives throughout the week such as Zaragata, Pilantragi Festival, MBR São Paulo, Sinkro, Festa Dama, Boli, Coletivo Serenight, Gruta, Oblivio, Mind the Gap, Núcleo Gato Pardo, Limbo, Coletivo Quack and Habitatt. All presentations were transmitted via the Internet, through a room in the ZOOM available on the official website of the event. Adriel Ushli also had the opportunity to develop the stage lighting project for the presentations by DJs Nirso and Pedro Meraki from the collective Zaragata and the installation for DJs Ushli and Brenda from the collective Oblivio and Lost my Keys from the collective Mind the Gap. The 3 scenic installations with light sought to reference the petals of the Vitória Regia flowers, explored in their different dimensions.
